In the 1926 reform, the relative rank of the then senior warrant officer, fanjunkare, was raised to equal that of the junior officer underlöjtnant and the highest junior officer rank fänrik.
In 1960, the relative rank of officers was further raised. A major change in personnel structure in 1983 (NBO 1983), where the three professional corps platoon officers, company officers and regimental officers were assembled within a single-track career system.
